Quasinormal modes of black holes in f(T) gravity

Abstract We calculate the quasinormal modes (QNM) frequencies of a test massless scalar field and an electromagnetic around static black holes in f ( T ) gravity. Focusing on quadratic modifications, which is good approximation for every realistic theory, we first extract spherically symmetric solutions using perturbative method, imposing two ansätze metric functions, suitably quantify deviation from Schwarzschild solution. Moreover, effective potential, then QNM frequency obtained solutions. Firstly, numerically solve Schrödinger-like equation discretization time evolution dominant mode applying function fit method. Secondly, perform semi-analytical calculation by WKB method with Pade approximation. show that results gravity are different compared to General Relativity, particular obtain slope period decay behavior model parameter values. Hence, under light gravitational-wave observations increasing accuracy binary systems, whole analysis could be used as additional tool Relativity examine whether torsional gravitational modifications possible.
